Born in West Bromwich he grew up in Birmingham and the Black Country, after a false start at an advertising agency he studied at Birmingham School of Photography and after a very short time assisting in London returned to establish a studio in Birmingham in the 1970’s. In 1988 he moved from Birmingham to a London and went on to travel the world shooting campaigns for airlines, travel companies, drink brands and many automotive clients gaining a few awards and many airmiles.
In 2008 he returned to university and gained an MA in visual communication with the ambition to become an academic hoping to pass on his knowledge from a long career as a commercial photographer, however his studies changed his practice and although he became a photography lecturer with the Open College of the Arts he is only part time and his commercial practice continues along with personal projects such as this Stratford Festival Faces project.
